Social Media and Communications Coordinator

The Social Media and Communications Coordinator will oversee all aspects of Empower's social media presence and create content for all our social media platforms. They will work with the Marketing Coordinator to promote our work and events, the stories of our participants, and raise awareness of the refugee crisis and specific challenges for refugees, in particular, refugee youth in New Zealand. They will ensure our social media and website remain updated and interesting to attract more participants, mentors, and funders.

This position is suitable for someone with a background in graphic design and communications.

• The position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in social media specific marketing and communications tools and apps
• Strong presentation capabilities and ability to create content for our social media platforms
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be organised, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Be empathic and sensitive to the issues concerning refugees when posting content
• Will have knowledge of refugee issues or a strong interest in researching and learning.

Time requirements: 2-3 hours per week


Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator will develop marketing strategies, objectives and targets, as well as analyse the success of marketing campaigns and advertisements. The Marketing Coordinator will lead marketing tasks and coordinate marketing projects and activities, collaborate with Social Media and Communications Coordinator to produce marketing communications, e.g. flyers & brochures and help manage the website. Responsibilities include handling logistics for marketing campaigns, product launches, events and strategic partnerships.

This position is suitable for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Advertising.

• Strong attention to detail
• Must be organised, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
