Treasurer

The Treasurer will oversee all aspects of Empower's finances and is responsible for preparing financial reports as necessary for Empower to comply with New Zealand Charities Commission obligations.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Empower, the Treasurer will assist with financial oversight, planning, budgeting and reporting for Empower. The Treasurer will assist in the preparation of budgets within funding bids, working closely with the funding team and other Empower team members to ensure accurate costings. The Treasurer will also work with the funding team to assist in effective expenditure reporting to trusts, foundations, and other funding agencies as required.

This position is suitable for someone with a background in accounting.

• Ability to plan and budget to meet on-going operational requirements and forecast cash flow positions and funds available
• Ability to develop annual budgets and create short-term and long-term projections based on needs and upcoming events and projects
• Must be organised, motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail

Time requirements: 2-3 hours per week


Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator will develop marketing strategies, objectives and targets, as well as analyse the success of marketing campaigns and advertisements. The Marketing Coordinator will lead marketing tasks and coordinate marketing projects and activities, collaborate with Social Media and Communications Coordinator to produce marketing communications, e.g. flyers & brochures and help manage the website. Responsibilities include handling logistics for marketing campaigns, product launches, events and strategic partnerships.

This position is suitable for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Advertising.

• Strong presentation capabilities and knowledge of marketing techniques
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be organised, motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
