About the Programme

The Multi-Ethnic Future Leaders Programme is a three-day leadership experience for 25 young people aged 20–30 years old from Auckland’s diverse ethnic communities.

Funded by the Ministry for Ethnic Communities in partnership with Auckland University of Technology, and delivered by Empower Youth Trust, this pilot programme will help participants:

  • Understand New Zealand's system of government and public sector.

  • Grow your leadership skills through practical learning, mentoring and storytelling.

  • Build confidence to make a positive difference in your community and wider society.

You’ll connect with public servants, community leaders, and policy makers, take part in interactive policy development simulations, leadership activities, and join a network of future leaders.

What’s Covered?

The programme is fully funded and fully catered. Participants do not need to pay to take part.

Limited local travel support may be available for Auckland-based participants who require assistance travelling to and from programme activities.

Participants are responsible for any personal expenses incurred outside programme activities.
